Join us for our November Work-in-Progress screening of SKY MIRROR, directed by John Meier.

The Great Salt Lake is running dry. Artists, scientists, and Indigenous leaders rise to demand water and rights, before the lake turns to dust.

Synopsis:
The Great Salt Lake’s fragile ecosystem stands on the brink of collapse. The future of this vital bioregion now rests with advocates, scientists, and Indigenous leaders raising their voices to awaken Utah’s conscience.

Poet Nan Seymour answered the lake’s urgent call, becoming an unexpected yet powerful champion. Her journey sparks a growing movement of writers, artists, and a community drawn to celebrate and protect and call for rights for Great Salt Lake. Will the state of Utah rise to the occasion and save the Great Salt Lake?

Filmmaker Bio:

John Meier is a two-time Emmy Award winning documentarian whose debut as a producer on Llama Nation earned national recognition, winning the Audience Choice Award at the Omaha Film Festival and Best Documentary at the Utah Film Festival.

Passionate about the environment, John uses storytelling to reconnect people with the natural world. Throughout his career, he has focused on documenting Utah’s most pressing environmental issues, inspiring audiences to cultivate a deeper awareness and appreciation for the landscapes that sustain us.
